Keswick Second XV’s match against Upper Eden Boars did not go so well, as the 19-31 score line shows. Despite holding their own for the first 65 minutes, the young and inexperienced team, including a couple of debutants, were depleted by injuries as the match went on. They were unable to match the well drilled and more experienced visitors at the end who scored 21 points in the last 15 minutes. Tries for Keswick came from Danny Price and the conversions from Steve Holloway. With this being only the second game this side of Christmas, a shortage of match practice didn’t help, but the signs are good and there are some exciting prospects for the future. The next home game for the Second XV will be on Saturday at Davidson Park against Whitehaven Seconds, another double header day for spectators. Kick offs will be 2.00pm for the Second XV and 2.15pm for the First XV.
