The dry pitch helped Keswick's faster backs and six minutes into the game Ollie MacPherson scored a wonderful try after a great break by Dean Robinson. Andy Muir added the conversion to take the score to 7 nil .
Windermere tried hard to come back into the game and held Keswick for another 10 minutes. Again, good hands and strong running from the backs led to a try in the corner from Matthew Scott followed only two minutes later by another great individual break by Ollie MacPherson leading to a try to take the score to 17 nil. Windermere showed lots of spirit but were being totally outclassed by the speed of thought and action of Keswick backs.
There followed a barrage of tries before half time with 2 from Andy Muir, a try for Stephen Moss on his first full start in the 1st team, Dom Maguire and team captain Aaron Thompson leading from the front. With Andy Muir finding his kicking boots and successfully converting all these tries, the half time score was Keswick 52 Windermere 0.
The game continued much the same in the second half with a good run and try by Christian Slater followed by two more from Ollie MacPherson and A conversion to take the score to 69-0. Windermere finally found a bit of an advantage and came back with a well deserved try to take the score to 69-7. The final 20 minutes belong to Keswick. Tries for Andy Wallace, Jamie Mackenzie and Stephen Moss took the final score to 84-7
Throughout the game Keswick maintained a high level of skill. Strong forward play linked to quick accurate handling in the backs gave a well-deserved outcome. There will be harder games in the Cumbria league this season but for the time being Keswick can congratulate themselves on a job well done.
