The Under 12 girls were bursting with excitement for their first official game of the season! With numbers at seven-a-side, they faced a well-matched squad from Penrith in what promised to be a competitive encounter.
Penrith came out strong, scoring a couple of quick tries early on. However, Keswick showed great resilience and refused to let their heads drop. With improved organisation and determination, they struck back with some well-worked tries of their own. The pace of the game was far more intense than the festivals they’ve attended, but the girls rose brilliantly to the challenge — rosy cheeks and all!
As the game progressed, Keswick grew stronger in their support play and began pressing as a complete team. Their tackling was impressive from start to finish, showing real commitment in defence. It turned into a try-fest, with so many scores it was hard to keep track — but we believe it finished with 16 tries for Penrith and 17 for Keswick! A fantastic team effort that highlighted the squad’s potential, hunger, and positive attitude for the season ahead.
