After a couple of injuries and sickness, we were reduced to only 11 players for the trip to Tynedale. We ended up playing with 2 Tynedale players on our side.
The first ten minutes were hard fought, and Keswick ended up scoring first with a well worked try from forwards to backs and scoring. This opened the doors for more good scoring from both sides, with Tynedale hitting back with a break away try. The girls worked hard across the team with cracking tackles from forwards and backs. Tynedale broke through a couple of times to score before half time.
The second half was just as hard fought with great individual and team efforts. Keswick full back Quinn Howe made a couple of try saving tackles when Tynedale did break our line. Tynedale scored a couple more times, but Keswick kept their heads up and hit back with 3 tries of their own.
In the end, it was not enough against a good side and having to borrow players. All the girls put in a big shift today and should be proud of themselves and their performance.
(Person of the match Quinn Howe).
Final score 57 - 26.
