Keswick U14 Girls hosted their first festival of the season this morning. After an early start, 40 girls from Keswick, Penrith and Upper Eden / Tri County Tigers took to the pitch.

In our opening game against Penrith, the girls grew into the match and scored three tries through Anna, Madison and Gracie.

There were special mentions for Anna, who scored her first try for Keswick, and for Lottie, who played her first ever rugby match and took to hooker like a duck to water. There were also some big tackles, strong scrummaging and a great jackal turnover from Grace B.

The second game, against Upper Eden / Tri County Tigers, was played 12-a-side. Keswick finished strongly with four tries: Amelia scored two, Ruby got one, and Molly also scored her first try for Keswick.

Defensively we have a lot to work on however to keep a clean sheet across both games was impressive and gave Keswick the overall win on the day!

It was a day of real team spirit. Players were swapped between sides to make sure everyone got a full game, including Keswick girls helping to make up numbers in the Upper Eden v Penrith match.

Thanks to Penrith and Upper Eden / Tri County Tigers for coming, and to all the parents and helpers who made the morning possible. There's lots to build on at training this week!
