Keswick Falcons secured their place in the Women’s Intermediate Plate Final with a commanding 88–5 victory over Lincoln Ladies at Davidson Park.
Lincoln opened with confidence, but Keswick’s defensive organisation quickly took control. A crucial early turnover from Ruth Barnes shifted momentum, and the Falcons capitalised immediately. Tries from Abbie Burton and Liz Ravalde set the tone, with powerful carries from Teagan Quigley, Katie Jackson and Katie Pepper keeping Lincoln under pressure throughout the first half.
Keswick’s kicking game and relentless line speed repeatedly forced errors, allowing the backline to strike with pace. Burton and Quigley proved unstoppable out wide, combining for multiple first‑half scores as the Falcons raced to a 45–0 lead at the break.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Burton added to her tally with trademark speed and support play, finishing the match with six tries and earning Opposition Player of the Match. Quigley crossed five times, while Bethan Lloyd added a well‑deserved score after orchestrating much of Keswick’s attacking shape.
Forward of the Match went to Ellie Winter for her dominant defensive display and leadership around the park. Pepper claimed Back of the Match after a standout performance in both attack and defence. Barnes and Ravalde shared kicking duties, converting eight of the Falcons’ fourteen tries.
Lincoln battled throughout and were rewarded with a late try, but Keswick’s all‑round performance ensured a convincing win and a place in the final.
The Falcons now prepare to face Beckenham Ladies at Butts Park Arena, Coventry, on 17 May—a challenging test against a side from the league above.
Before then, Keswick host Horden & Peterlee on 26 April in their final league fixture. With the NC1 North title still in the balance, it promises to be a dramatic end to the season.
