With Cumbria’s 16 players up against Yorkshire’s 25+ squad, the Cumbrian’s had to give it their all for the full game.
Yorkshire opened the scoring and from then on the scoring kept tipping either way, creating a great game for players and spectators alike. Strong and powerful players within the Yorkshire squad versus speed and agility in the Cumbrian team.
With Yorkshire converting all but one of their tries and taking a clever penalty kick, the scoreline finished 27-29 to Yorkshire.
However, we like to think Cumbria won on tries 5-4 ?
With 4 out of the 5 tries coming from Keswick players. Abbie Burton x 2, Lillia Burton and Seren Green ??
There was some incredible play from all the other Keswick lasses with noteable metres made by powerhouse Issie Booth and a try saving tackle by Scarlett Stone ??
A great display of U18 girls rugby on show from both counties today.
