A wet warmup showed the girls the tricky conditions they would be facing during the match.

A quick start and a couple of brake away tries in quick succession saw our girls on the back foot. Working hard in the poor conditions steadied the ship a little. Turnovers from both sides made it an interesting and frustrating battle up front. Another couple of tries gave Darlington commanding lead at half time.

The girls rallied at half time and came out fighting. Tackling well, putting pressure on opposition in defence and attack. With very hard work from our girls, we kept the score 0-0 through the majority of the second half. Keswick scored a well worked try to break through the second half dead lock. Defending well with a couple of tries held ups on the line. Darlington eventually broke through for a late try. A much improved second half and a heck of a shift against a good Darlington side in energy sapping conditions.
